Approach I.T. ("we," "us," or "our") is a small business based in Pacific Grove, California, owned and operated by Joshua Proch. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit approachitco.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it simple: we collect only what we need to respond to you and run our business, and we never sell your information.

Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you fill out our contact form or free SEO audit form, email us, or call us, we collect what you choose to share, such as your name, email address, phone number, business name, website address, and the details of your message.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site collects some information automatically when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, time spent on pages, the site that referred you, and your general location (city or region, not your exact address). This is collected through cookies and similar technologies, described below.

Client information. If you become a client, we may also collect billing details and the account access you provide for the work we do (for example, access to your website, Google Business Profile, or Google Search Console). Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your questions and requests, including preparing free SEO audits

  • Provide, manage, and bill for the services you hire us for

  • Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it

  • Keep the Site secure and prevent spam and abuse

  • Meet our legal and tax obligations

We don't use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we don't send marketing emails unless you've asked us to.

Cookies and Analytics

The Site uses cookies, which are small files stored on your device. We use:

  • Squarespace (our website platform), which sets cookies needed for the Site to work and provides basic visitor analytics

  • Google Analytics 4, which helps us understand how visitors find and use the Site. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited and device type, and Google processes it under its own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

  • Google Search Console, which shows us how the Site appears in Google search results. It reports search data to us and doesn't place cookies on your device.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Site may not work properly without them.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, so the Site does not currently change its behavior when it receives one. You can still use the cookie controls described above.

How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed:

  • Squarespace: website hosting and form handling

  • Google (Workspace, Analytics, Search Console): email and website analytics

  • Stripe: payment processing for clients

These providers may only use your information to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep form submissions and email correspondence as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period after, generally no more than [3] years unless you become a client. Client records are kept as long as needed for the work and for tax and legal purposes.

How We Protect Information

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections, reputable service providers, and limited access to accounts. No website or email system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • Tell you what personal information we have about you

  • Correct information that's wrong

  • Delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal or billing reasons

  • Stop contacting you

To make a request, email josh@approachitco.com. We'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for making a request.

California residents: California law gives you the right to know how your personal information is used and to request access to or deletion of it. We honor these requests as described above. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

Children's Privacy

The Site is meant for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Links to Other Websites

The Site links to other websites, including our clients' sites. We're not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please review their privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll add a notice on the Site.
