Accessibility Statement

Approach I.T. wants approachitco.com to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology. We build websites for other businesses, and we hold our own site to the same standard.

Our Standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more usable for people with disabilities.

Current Status

approachitco.com partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That means some parts of the Site don't yet fully meet the standard. We're actively working to close the gaps.

What We Do

  • Write descriptive alternative text for meaningful images

  • Use a clear, logical heading structure on every page

  • Check color contrast so text is readable

  • Make sure menus, links, buttons, and forms work with a keyboard

  • Label every form field clearly

  • Respect your device's "reduce motion" setting: the scrolling previews in our portfolio stay still if you've turned motion off

  • Design every page to work on phones, tablets, and desktops, and at up to 200% zoom

  • Review new pages and content for accessibility before they go live

Known Limitations

We know about these issues and are working on them:

  • Images: some older images don't have alternative text yet. We're adding it across the Site.

  • Portfolio previews: the portfolio shows screenshots of client websites. Each one has a text description, but the screenshot can't give the full experience of the live site. The live sites are linked from each preview.

  • Third-party features: some features come from Squarespace, our website platform, or other third parties. We don't fully control their code, but we report problems when we find them.

Compatibility

The Site is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, and with common screen readers like VoiceOver and NVDA. It relies on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

If you run into a barrier on the Site, or need information in a different format, please tell us. We'll work with you to get you what you need.

Please include the page address and a short description of the problem. We aim to respond within 5 business days.

How We Assess the Site

We assess the Site with a self-evaluation that uses automated testing tools, manual keyboard testing, and screen reader checks. We review the Site at least once a year and whenever we make major changes.
